The PAOs Maintenance: February 2013

We have a short but eventful month of February, 28 days to be exact, and it's time to wave bye bye to February and hello March.

Monthly average for the PAO's expenses as per February 2013:

Food: RM71.10

Treats: RM6.00

Veterinary and Medical: N/A

Accessories and Miscellaneous: RM20.90

TOTAL MONTHLY EXPENSES = RM98.00

Cost hiked up for February due to Chinese New Year celebration. Edibles, especially meats cost 10% to 15% more than usual. It was also because I decided to get some kibbles for convenience of feeding Teh Pao back in hometown since not everyone is acceptable with the idea of raw feeding. Bought a 1lb pack of NOW! Fresh Adult Dog Formula for RM16.50 and since the retail store is having promotion, I got another 1lb pack for free. I've also got a new rubber squeaky ball for RM5.90 to replace the one that was destroyed. Bought a slice of salmon on a late night trip to local supermarket at half price, which was still fresh. I wanted to gave it raw to Teh Pao, but was concern about salmon poisoning, so cooked it with some tomatoes and olive oil. Dang, she loved it.

Manage to get some yellow banded scad ( selar kuning) so I bough a few which cost only RM2, and some Aussie beef trays. Since Teh Pao came home with me after the trip back to my hometown she been very picky on food, I wanted to get more of those little fishes but I was concern about wastage, so there they are, 10 little fishes for a start. The rest of the purchases are some general edibles ie chicken, carrots, pumpkin and other stuffs.

Treat wise, I spent RM6 for a pair of pork ear and snout while I was in hometown. It cost slightly more than usual due to CNY but still cheaper than the city. Place it in the oven when mum was roasting some chicken. Teh Pao loved it to the max, served as a chew for her too.

Other expenses included the storage bag with zip lock from Daiso, the rubber ball ( mentioned above) and Teh Pao's licence renewal with 50% discount in local council which cost RM10. Discount applicable for all neutered dogs, that's the local council's ongoing efforts to curb strays issues - encourage dog owners' to have their pet dog(s) neutered.
